OK - First off, when it comes to DIY, the d tends to stand for destroy in my case. So I'm something of a novice.

We have a spotlight bar in our bathroom. Recently I replaced a couple of the bulbs which had failed and everything was fine. Later that night the light stopped working. I've checked and none of our fuses on the box have been tripped. Where is the next place to check? Is there a fuse on the fitting itself or does it simply sound like the fitting is probably duff and needs replacing.

Thanks in advance

Also check the replacement lamps are the same rating (Watts) as the original ones.

Accidentally fitting higher rated lamps can lead to overheating, or overload a switch mode power supply, causing it to either shut down or fail completely.

Actually I think it might be the higher rated bulbs - just checked the packaging and these are 50w and I think the old ones were 35w. :(

Never liked them lights anyway!! Thanks for the replies!!

The fitting may have a fuse (in the central housing).

It may have blown if you put the wrong lamps in. [/quote]
