Spur for Electric Fire

It's not condoned by BS7671 but it's advised upon through Appendix 15.

By connecting loads of this type to a ring final, you're chancing that the load current in parts of the circuit may exceed the current carrying capacity of the cable. Obviously, it would require other loadings to be in use at the same time.
The Appendices are informative, not normative so it's just guidance to help design a sound circuit.

there are millions done like that throughout the UK so I wouldn't worry.

Most UK RFCs are only loaded at a tiny fraction of capacity anyway.

If you have GCH then the electric heater will not be used much, especially at full load.

If the whole house is heated using electric heaters, then the position is different.
