Squeaking

My van is squeaking

I think it is related to the breaks or wheel bearings

When I break the squeaking stops

Any pointers on what it could be

If the squealing stops when you gently apply the brakes, then for sure its the pads gently rubbing on the discs.
Often enough, cleaning the pads and calipers up, and removing all of the dust is all thats needed.
Some copper grease should be applied to the pad backs and any sliding faces.

Yes i think this is what happens, the noise stops when the breaks are touched.

In the mot history the van has had some problems with the bearings in the wheel are i think so i thought this may be related.

I will get someone to have a look at the breaks.

If the brakes have been binding for a while, the discs tend to be glazed due to the heat developed, and in this case its best to renew them.....they are cheap enough from a motor factor.
