Hi i have put up on my kitchen wall tongue and groove paneling and all new pine doors and arcatrave, as it's in the kichen i want to give it some protection, the kichen is going to be on a mexican feel so I would like to stain this with a hint of teracota, what the best products to use for this or any tips on what I should be using.

I still what the pine to be very prominent, but with the hint of teracota or red and it must be wipable and half way bay resistant :)

Thanks for any advice

a few pointers new pine is very" white" it will darken with age
if you use oil based varnish they yellow with age use acrylic [waterbased]
are your "new"pine doors pine or pine effect

I always used to use an oil based dye but found a water based dye to be better.
I then finish with a couple of coats of Danish Oil.
I used to use varnish but wont use it anymore.
Wood is alive and oil keeps it that way.

Hi, thanks for the quick replys!

The doors are pine louver doors

I don't want to use varnish either, don't like the shiny effect you get, wood like to keep it as natural as possible!

Any makes you would recommend?
