Can anyone tell me what might have caused the staining on this south facing rendered wall?
Also, is it likely to be a problem and if so is there a way to fix it?
I'd suggest that it's mostly a lack of an overhang at the verges, ie where the roof meets the gable wall.
If you look at the building to the right , you will see barge boards giving an overhang to the gable pike.
Does your other gable end have any overhang?
I dont know what your render consists of, or how your render was applied, or applied to what, but the finish appears to be a simple rubbed finish which isn't helping your cause.
Although the front elevation appears clean enough from run-off staining.
