Hello,
I have a set of wooden internal stairs that rise 7'2" in 9 steps 2'10" wide, against a wall, to a very narrow landing 2' X 3'4" (floating over a walk trough), They turn 90 degrees right, narrow to 2' wide and rise 2'3" in three steps.
They are quite tricky to master, and several times I have nearly fallen/slipped (they are trying to kill me!).
The opening at the landing is 4'9" X 4'5", I can extend this to 4'9" X 6'5" (my foot print for the stairs could not be much more than this!) and the total rise is 9'6" floor to floor, with floor to ceiling 8'11".
I have looked at spiral staircases, but because of the opening they would be too narrow to be practical.
Could anyone please suggest a solution.
