How much would I be looking at to install a new oak handrail/base rail and metal spindles? It’s a small staircase in a semi. 1.5m for the landing and 2.4m up the stairs.

I’ve priced the parts but how long would this job take? I’m thinking 2 days £500-£600? In the southeast?

Also is removing the newel post a tough job as one guy said it was a pain and I was better off with a cladding kit?

Thanks for advice.

I think you are more likely to get a "Price" for the job as appose to "Day Rate".

I did a staircase conversion from a 70s staircase to oak and glass. It isn't straightforward takes alot of skill and knowledge, I didn't remove the newel posts instead I clad them ìn 12mm oak using a mitre lock cutter to create seamless corners in the oak.

I think from a Labour perspective you won't get any change from £1000.00 plus.
