I am fitting 28 downlights into my stairs 2 on each step,
I have cut the holes for the lights and i have the downlights,

What wire would be best and do i need transformers

i am using the following bulbs

1watt GU10 2pin LED Colour Change

Prod. Ref. #: PAR161GU10LEDCG

Features:
1watt 240volt GU10
Average Rated Life 30000hrs
Effective Ambient Colour Changer

Not suitable for use with Dimmer Switch

If transformers are needed would a have these behind each bulb??

You don't say what the lamps are connected into nor how they are wired.

Sometimes the lamp itself with have a built in led driver (can't remember the correct term) and sometimes it is located in the connecting unit. It can also be separate.

The manufacturers instructions should say.

You must be rich by the way ;)

Appears to be 240 volt direct to the lamp but CHECK the manufacturer's installation information.

Eye Protection
LEDs are very bright. DO NOT look directly into the LED light!!
The light can be intense enough to injure human eyes.

which can be a bit of a negative when installing LED lighting on stairs, hard to position them where they are never in direct view. Even if they are not bright enough to cause ( serious ) harm they can be dis-orientating if they are the only lighting on the stairs.
