Hi, please could anyone help me! I want to replace all of the balaustrading (sorry dont know how to spell), but the problem is at the top of the stairs the newel post (quarter turn) is a funny shape. It is a rectangle about 9" by 4". I didnt want to mess around with newel bases, I just wanted to keep the base, bore a hole for a new newel turning. but as u can see this is impossible at the top so what do i do. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
