I always seem to get far more static shocks, (regardless of the clothes Im wearing and what fibres they are made from) than others.
It may be a laugh to everyone else but it isnt for me?
any suggestions as to what I can do to reduce it happening?

He toffee, same here.
Suggestions: put creme on your hands to restore moist-content and also try to get the air humidity in your home to a higher level. (Lately the humidity has been very very low, under 30% even). Now it's getting higher again (warmer temperatures and a bit more rain) so the amount of shocks will lessen (I hope, cause every time I contact the kitchen sink in our shop I get a jolt)

woody, Im glad someone else knows how it feels.
Sometimes I dread touching something because I know Im going to get that zap.
Reached out to smooth down my sons hair this morning and zapped him too!

yes WYL is correct the humidity will make a difference unless in the summer time in an office with air conditioning on full blast for chilling which will reduce the moisture again and allow static build up in those circumstances the steam kettle(in air con system) should replace the moisture content to balance the humidity to it correct setting.
or stop wearing the nylon underwear toffee! ;)

Do you know why it happens?
Woody mentioned humidity.
I just wonder why, living in the same environment, its me who gets the shocks?

Let your passenger touch the car first, always helps

My floors are all wood or tiles kendor!

Thats interesting about hands though.
Im just not understanding how it builds up in me..
I appreciate this might sound stupid but if the first thing I touched was with my foot, then the zap would occur there would it not?
so do I need to restore the moisture content of my skin all over to prevent this happening?
