What are the current regulations on plaster boarding a steel beam?

I've seem that you need either fire board or 2 skins of normal board? Is this an option anymore or does it have to be fire board now? Maybe I need 2 skins of fire board ??

Let me know, and maybe give me a link to where i can read the building regulation document on this.

Will I need another site inspection? I've already booked him to come out after the builders have finished putting up the beams. Do they need to sign off the plasterboard too?

What did the building inspector suggest you do, Both double boarding or using fireboard would satisfy the regs, But so building inspectors are a little fussy and prefer the pink board method.
I would expect them to visit prior to boarding but with the pink stuff in view, so they will be happy in the knowledge that you will be using it.

Either way is fine. Is should be stated on your drawings. On mine, I can do either.
