Weve had two columns fitted for our goal post and they are bolted down to the foundations and are near on 900mm down from the finished floor level. We still have to insulate our floor slab and then screed etc. question is what can i backfill for around 600mm+ around the column base? Concrete up to oversite level?

Yeah backfill with concrete up to dpc.
Check you don't need to grout below the baseplate first.
