Hello
I am contemplating renewing my Garage roof. It is a low pitch single sloping roof abutted onto the gable end of the house. Its 32 1000 box section. Expenses dictate that I have to renew this myself, but I am a competent DIYer. The steel abutment flashing that is attached to to the Dry Dash finish of the gable wall has leaked at times ( it looks as though its just sealed with silicon )and I am thinking of getting the new one with a 20 ~25mm inset to sit in a chase I intend to cut in the Wall and then seal up with Lead Mate ( Possibly ). My question is this
Would it be ok to use Lead rolls / Hall clips to hold the Galvanised PVC coated abutment flashing in place prior to sealing, or is there a chance of reaction between Lead and Galvanised steel if coating becomes damage when knocking these in . Also, would lead mate be ok for sealing or would low modulus neutral cure builders silicon be a better choice
Thanks in advance
