Steering rack leak

I have a small leak on my power steering. I have been told i will need to change the whole steering rack unit. All in it will cost me £150.

So far i have been topping up the fluid myself every month or so. It is not a big leak, but i wondered if this is a fail on the MOT which is next Feb ?

If so i may as well get it done. If not i am happy to keep topping up the power fluid.

£150 sounds very cheap for a new rack fitted, what car is it?

The oil leak shouldn't be an issue, but the level in the fluid reservoir needs to be correct. An advisory will probably be made.
Unless the leak is from the rubber boots on the track rods, a recon rack is the way to go - and for £150 I'd take his arm clean off.
