I've got a terraved house and there is a step down between the two bedrooms (originally 2 up 2 down).

Is there a way that i csn level this off by creating another step somehow?

I have a 2 year old who when he stays over is definitely going to run across this area during the night So I ideally want it level

Cheers.

Loads of similar houses have no issue but a stair gate might be sensible?

You could make a wooden box that filled half the landing, or just a piece of carpet covered ply on stumpy legs. Could only be used when the kid is there?

The house I lived in when I was 7-17 had 3 steps on each side like that and my brother and I spent hours jumping the gap without falling down stairs. (Obviously a 2 year old is different)
