Sticking scrim tape, especially corners

Back to doing a spot of skimming today with a small ensuite bathroom.
Was really struggling with sticking scrim in the corners, it was the self adhesive type.
Wondering if anyone has any tips for next time?
E.g. any additional glues that would help it stick?
Background was an artex ceiling and emulsioned plaster on the walls.
Once I started covering the ceiling with bonding agent, made the problem worse!

Eventually sorted now, but skimming with lengths of scrim a little lose is not so easy!

The adhesive on the scrim tape dries over time, and becomes useless. The trick is to start it position the scrim tape where you want it, and then apply a bit of plaster over it; then hold it down woth your trowl, and pull out the remaining tape, and then add more plaster and hold as you move along it. Did you pva the emulsioned paint first, or apply blue grit to give it better adhesion though.

Self adhesive scrim works best on plasterboard that is free of adhesive. Add PVA or apply on a dusty background and it will often move somewhat.

I tend to use an orange or extra sticky scrim (Selco) as the clear stuff isn't the best.

The moisture from PVA'ing really does prevent scrim sticking so PVA once, wait 24 hours if possible, Apply scrim, PVA again, then add a few drops of plaster to the scrim before you crack on with the rest of the wall.

I have in the past stuck the odd galvanised staple into a particularly annoying bit of scrim thats bulging though the first coat. Each to their own.

Did you pva the emulsioned paint first, or apply blue grit to give it better adhesion though.

I used wickes bonding agent, but when it was wet it behaved similarly slippy as pva.
(I have used blue grit before, but I found the aggregate is quite coarse and it showed through in places on a previous re-skim, so prefer WBA).
This morning after the WBA was fully dry, it was easier to apply scrim on the wall joins for the ones I needed to do today.
