I am having a stone shower base/wet floor priced/made and will be installing the piece myself when it is complete:

The stone is Cholcolate Shell honed limestone and porous to a degree. It will be installed on wooden floorboards within the bathroom area on the first floor of a typical 1950's semi.

Can someone please offer some advice on tanking products and how to go about the getting the best results.

All the tanking systems that I know of will totally obscure the limestome which is obviously not what you want. Some form of stone inpregnator that is used on marble and limestone tiles would possibly be worth a try.

Jason,

What do you mean by "obscure".

I have details of a tanking system from BAL-WP1 that reads okay - but I would obviously check first regarding the point you've raised :D .

The tanking system is not transparent so would have to be applied to the recess that the stone tray was going into, this would mean that the stone will still be porus.

Ask your question on the screwfix forum and caddress it to Mudster, he is a pro tiler and also imports limestone so should have more idea than me.

Jason,

I've done as you suggested although I've just realised I've raised the query to Munster rather than Mudster.Ne'er mind.

This stone shower lark is gonna cost a fortune - got to get it right.
