Hi - I am trying to experiment with drum sticks - I use acrylic (plastic)sticks and I have spray painted them but if they click each other the paint chips easy, I have used clear lacquer on them which has helped but still on the occasion they chip - is there anything else I could try?

Thanks in advance.

They need correct preparation before paint with adhere correctly,[ideally clean with ESP] if there is too much flex in them the paint with chip regardless.

When bodyshops paint plastic bumper/ spoilers/etc on cars they add a Plasticisor into the paint which makes it flexible so it doesn't crack

Stop clicking them ...chill...and play some Jazz......Nice. then try a bodyshop ( car or bike) because some do the plasticised paint in aerosmith cans ;) or is that aerosol
