Hi guys,
I’m about to re-direct the mains cold plumbing into my house and as part of this I’m going to change the stopcock. At the moment the pipe is 15mm as is the existing tap for the stopcock.
In the plumbing I have for my fish tank, standard practice is to use ball valves of the next size up in bore (with attached reducers) so that the valve does not restrict the pipe diameter and reduce flow. Does the same apply in general plumbing?
I.e. if I add a 22mm tap with associated plumbing to increase/reduce the pipe size in the vicinity of the stopcock will I get better water pressure in the house?
Thanks
Andy
