Because they were not spotted earlier.
I've just received an 'alert' notification, which reads:
Your post in the thread 2-way lighting wiring (Ed.) was moved to How do I wire 2-way light switches, please? (Ed. ). Reason: Duplicates merged
40 minute ago.
The last visible post to that merged thread was over a week ago, and my only contributions a day or two before that. I therefore wonder why it has been decided to merge these 'dead' threads today?

Just wondering :)

Kind Regards, John

Same OP posted two posts rather than continue with the first?

Sure, that's probably what happened (not all that common). However, my question was why the threads has been merged now, given that no-one had posted to either thread for over a week, and there may well never be any more posts to the merged thread.

However, as you will have seen,a mod has now indicated that it was simply because 'they have only just noticed'. Whether or not it was 'worth their effort' to do this 'after the event' is obviously their business, not mine!

Kind Regards, John
