Strange Valve

T

Hello,

Anyone know what this is for?

To me it looks like a pressure reducing valve, however my friend (to whom it belongs) tells me his heating system is gravity fed...

From what I can see, it seems to read from 0-0.5 bar, so quite low pressure.

Cheers

Yes it's a Danfoss AVDO automatic bypass valve. It gives the pump somewhere to pump to, if the rads are shut or if the 2 port valve is be shut.

Yours it set very low at 0.1 bar - that's ahead of only 1 metre. If the CH works ok, leave it alone, but a higher setting would be more common. It protect the boiler, and helps with noise trv's.
