I may sound stupid but I purchased an Echo strimmer alongside few other tools I need as spare repair that only needed service as not used for a year.

Strimmer is an Echo GT222ES and look like had very light use but there is no spark. I can read around 2 OHMS with multimeter which seems reasonable but again I cannot get it to make any spark.

I disconnected the switch and no luck.

What Should I check to make sure the ignition coil is good and troubleshot the issue as look like there is no after market replacement and oem part cost well too much

Thanks

The first thing to do with these machines is to look for a spark in the dark.......the very high energy produced makes for the tiniest of sparks.
Next, I'll state the obvious......check for a connection between the HT lead and the plug cap, try a new plug, ensuring there's a good contact between the side electrode and metal engine.
The gap between flywheel magnets and the igniter should be around a post card thickness.
Disconnect the wire at the igniter that goes to the switch, just in case it has been frayed.
I'll check a similar coil for resistance tomorrow if you like, but my garage is fully iced up just now!

I think the part number for the igniter is:
A411-000140
Is this it?
John :)

John, look like part number for this model accordingly with L&S Eng was
A411-000141 and there is no chienese version. Not sure if that was would work but

I got it working :) :) :) I removed the coil and cable. put new plug connector and reset distance. It's started at first pull

It maybe worth mentioning.......the main HT cable is often made from carbon fibre - this prevents TV interference.
However, the plug connector is often just a plug in spike, or maybe crimped on to exposed fibres. Not the best, hence the need to be very careful when removing the plug cap!

John :)
