Structural Engineer and Price London/Wandsworth area.

Hi all, I'm doing a mid-terrace loft conversion and 2nd floor rear extension in London/Wandsworth area and am at the point where I need a structural engineer to do my technical drawings for my builder.

Anyone got an idea of the sort of price I should be paying for this service. Not keen on getting ripped off.

I presume by technical drawings, I take it you need them for Planning & Building Control approval firstly? You can use the final building Control drawings for the Builders works also.

If so, get a 3-4 quotes from Architectural Technicians. It sounds fairly standard, but you do live in London......not sure on the fee tho.

He's after a structural engineer, not an architect or technician.

Anyway... I know a few engineers who are local to me (Hampshire). They'd quote for you. In some cases, there's no real need for them to even visit site, so no need to worry if they're local.
