structural engineer recommendations, hampshire

Can anyone recommend a good value (what i mean is cheap and decent) structural engineer for an extension project near Southampton/Portsmouth? Had a couple of recommendations from friends/family but none local so cost of simply coming to have a look a the place is off putting.
I hope i am allowed to ask this sort of thing, apologies if i am not
