Sorry to post as new topic...but I am really struggling to get the PRV off.

Does anyone know how to get the PRV off this worcester bosch

I have taken the clips out but I can't seem to get it off. So far I have been what I described as being quite delicate with it trying not to rip it apart.

Do I pull it off? - I don't want to tug on it too hard

It looks like the right side of the PRV joins onto a push fit elbow?

I have drained the water out of the PRV

Attached is a pic of the prv again

Thank you

Don't know this particular one but is there a grub screw holding it on at the base?

I dont think so gas, sure its just a retaining clip but they can be a nuisence to get out

the outlet usually holds it in place so I would get that out first, I have had to cut the OUTLET!!! pipe on the last couple I have done to get the bleeder out

Here's another pic from another angle

and a pic of the PRV to replace

It looks like the right side is push fitted into the elbow (and the front end is connected to the outlet) but I can't get the b****y thing off!

regards

FOI Balenza - I've just managed to do it

I am not a pratt - I had already consulted techincal at wocester bosch who did say it was easy to replace and didn't really warrant a profesional. As long as I was not messing around with the gas i would be ok. Coupled with my previous post for advice on this forum I gained the confiedence to give it a go.

I just had to pull it slightly more and it came off the outlet and it slipped out of the elbow.

Yes, a little water came out as expected (already had a cloth in place - thanks joineryisahobbynottrade)

The new PRV slotted in its place with no problem. Repressurised system to 1 bar - went outside - no water coming out - sweet.

I will have to change the filling loop next.

Thanks again for the advice

oh, I was quoted £140 from a plumber to supply and fit the part - original WB PRV cost me £10.50 + vat! :D

Plumbernot, congratulations on changing the PRV ;)

I will have to change the filling loop next.

Should do this sharpish as this was the cause of your problem.

Just an update - I have just changed the filling loop (well part of it)

Had to turn main cold water from outside of house

Discconnected the valve with the key - kept the same olive on the pipework and fitted new valve with new flexi hose.

Turned on water (no leaks)

Pressure spot on at 1 bar - no leak from pipe outside

£2o I paid in total and a very happy bunny :D

I am most grateful for finding this forum and indeed for all the advice I have been given - we got there in the end. 2 weeks ago I didn't have a clue about boilers and today I was able to change the PRV and filling loop thanks to this forum

Keep up the good work and no doubt I shall be using this forum if I have any household problems :p
