Stuck tap cartridge

Trying to replace the hot water tap cartridge as it’s leaking, but it won’t shift. Tried 17mm spanner and it’s just ruined the nut. Any suggestions?

Choose a socket with a full hexagon drive.......Laser tools and others.
If you can access an impact wrench so much the better.

Halfords, Machine mart, iirc there’s an impact set of 3 which includes the 17mm. Maybe try a decent set of water pump pliers?
