Hello all,

Quick question; pumping insulation into a stud wall, yes or no? Is there a possibility that pressure used to pump the insulation could damage the wall? Would there be any issue with filling a cavity that has some wiring/sockets etc

Thanks!

It’s a side extension with first floor dormer. So it’s a gable wall that comes down through the house. However, house is steal framed so it’s actually a steal stud. This stud has 100 mm insulation pre fitted. There’s another 100mm cavity between stud and plaster board on the extension side. The main house is warm but side extension is freezing in winter. From what I can tell this is due to a draft coming in through the dormer. My thinking is to fill that internal cavity wall.
