I wonder if anyone could tell me what the regulations are concerning minimum distances of studwalls from fireplace openings please?
I am about to put in studwork for an ensuite in the corner of a bedroom in my victorian house.
The room has an open, but unused fireplace that I want to keep, positioned halfway along the longest wall.
I would like to run the studwork for the ensuite off the corner of the chimney breast. As it stands, the studwork would end up about 600mm from the fireplace opening.
It looks like a safe enough distance, but I can't find any regs covering this. Is this likely to be too close?

it sounds ok to me but to be sure i would always ring my local building control office and ask for guidance.
