In one room, in our house, there is a short (600mm) stud wall pier that creates a small alcove. But at 600mm it is really 30-40mm short to allow 600 deep wardrobe + fronts to fit flush or set back slightly.
What if I simply cut long lengths of plasterboard, stick them or screw to pier, then tack some beads on to allow me to place wall filler or diy plaster finish, to restore the pier? I was thinking maybe 3 layers @ 12.5mm.
It would make a mess of the skirting etc....have to fix that one too.

Robbox, good evening.

Your proposal will work, but?

You may probably will have to redecorate the room? or at least one of its walls?

How about considering using timber similar to the door architraves in the room? with base blocks [solves a part of the skirting problem]

Ken.
