Forgive me for being forgetfull, but what is the standard centres for vertical studs, and the height for the noggin?

I am kind of thinking 400 centres, and 1.2m from floor to centre of noggin,but want to make darn sure!

This is to take standard 8x4 sheets.

Your thinking is correct.

although if its actual8x4 sheets on both sides[ 1220x 2440]youll be better with 16"[406.5mm]spacings to save cutting boards

obviously if you have metric sheets on one or more sides [or a mixture] you need to go for 400 spacings and cut down the bigger boards

You can only buy 2400 x 1200 sheets these days.
Should rephrase that and say metric only.
