Can anyone put me oot of me misery man?

I'm watching Vera, but I can't find how to activate subtitles. There's something about waiting until after a break but I can't see anything.

On our TV, also an LG, when you press pause in the bottom left hand corner there's a subtitles box to tick, or untick.

I pause and get a strip across the bottom, but it disappears too quickly!

OK. Combination of my eyesight and slow reactions...

You need to be Usain Bolt to react quick enough with the remote.

Mottie??? Anyway when you pause and hit down on your magic remote it doesn't disappear it stays on screen until you unpause it.

So what happens if you hit pause and then down on the remote then?

On one remote, I pause, then the bar appears, if I press down, it starts again. If I pause it and wait the bar disappears after a few seconds.

On the second remote, the button doesn't have a push down function. I suspect it's a knock-off....
