...sorry a little white lie about the sudden side of things!!!

I Live in a 1st floor maisonette with the combi boiler in a cupboard in the living room with my bathroom directly above.

The hot water pressure has always been good. As we have no power shower fitted we have always used a shower mixer to use as a shower

if im honest the pressure has been so good it shoots extremely hot water all the way to the other side of the bath and half way up the wall.lol

Because of this I decided to go and buy a mixer tap/shower

after fitting this the hot water pressure has all but disappeared???

The tap mixer I have bought has the H tap on the left hand side, however my hot water tap is on the right hand side of my bath??? would this make a difference??

Is it just this tap that the pressure is effected?

From what i can make out from the link the new tap you have fitted is for low pressure installations not combi's .

If its all taps, make sure the stop tap is fully opened

it is only the hot water tap on the bath that is effected. all other taps around the house are the same. if anything the cold water pressure has probably got better. Would this have anything to do with the cold water now coming out a hot water tap??

the plumbing has not changed on the new set up has the cold tap where the hot feed and the hot tap where the cold feed is. Is there anything different within the taps themselves that could have caused this or am im starting to lose it?

Forgetting the 'pressure' for the moment, how does the flow rate compare with the old tap?

Taps suitable for gravity systems have less restrictive waterways than those made for mains pressure systems. This can give the illusion of a loss of pressure whilst the flow rate hasn't changed.

It is possible the hot water supply is actually restricted by your boiler, which could be working at the maximum flow rate that it can actually heat.

Reversing the hot and cold taps should make no difference, unless it's a thermostatic mixer - then it can lead to all sorts of strange things happening!

If your taps have flexible tails, check they haven't been twisted or kinked during installation.

Some flexi tails and isolating valves have very restrictive internals that can dramatically reduce flow rates.
