I have split my cricket - not major - and want to repair it. I have the glue but do not know how to compress the split wood after applying the glue. Can anyone suggest an idea to compress, as the crack is at an awkward part.

I'm not sure you can repair crickets, have you thought of trying locusts instead? :)

If you don't have any cramps ( which I assume is the case) then it's possible to use wedges. As long as you have two solid objects to put the bat between you're good to go , I've wedged things between walls in doorways before now. Try it first without glue to see how it goes then use wooden wedges or even a car jack to apply the pressure. When you're happy then repeat using the glue.
