Yes, holidays!
I refuse point blank to be dragged down any further by all this miserable talking. I am taking two holidays (YES 2) in the next 6 months.

But you say, "what if you are made redundant or run out of work??" Well Que sera sera.
If I have a couple of grand extra in the bank and I am unemployed, the social office will tell me I will have to use this up before I can ever receive any benefits!

So think again. Unemployed and forced to use your savings until they are bone dry. OR have no money and getting on the sponging gravy train alot earlier!
PS. Don't believe in claiming if i can do otherwise.

i agree, it is time to try to lighten the mood a bit as best we can, my wife had a health scare last week but has been confirmed as ok and we are going to Florida for 3 weeks holiday in July so my glass is definately half full

Kirkgas you'll love Florida lucky enough to have been there 3 times. We are off to Egypt again this year following a very good holiday there last year.

The yanks are putting so much rigmarole in the way of getting into the place that I don't think I'd be bothered going back there.

thanks oompah, we have been 3 times as well and love it, i think i would like Egypt as well but dont think my body would survive the heat, a joiner i know went and he said they went out at night and floated in the pool all day as it was so hot,

Been to Egypt 3 times now
Wife works for First Choice and won an xmas raffle which was & 7 nights Nile cruise with all excursions thrown in.....Took to the following October to talk her into booking it as she really didn't fancy it.....Anyway we did the temples and valley of kings/queens etc, then on the coach back to the airport she started crying as she didn't want to leave as its was the best holiday she had EVER had...Been to Taba and Sharm since which was good weather, snorkling etc, but if you've never been then i would suggest doing the temples etc the place is totally awsome, mouth dropping, unbelievable....

Having said all that If you just want the seaside resort side of things then don't go in their summer or it does get very hot...very very hot but October/November is in the 70's

A country I would highly recommend to anyone

We went last year at the end of July stayed at sharm, didn't find it to hot by the sea all day but we went on a trip to the pyramids and to the museum to see king tuts display that was a hot day out.Recommend it though.

If you go to Egypt as fit as fiddle, get scuba diving training. It will reveal a completely new world beneath the waves for you.

I am an experienced diver and found diving in the Red Sea the best in the world!!
If the wife twines about leaving her and kids for a day buy her a snorkel.

Not many places to train safely here either due to currents or hideous conditions in UK! A few lakes (waters) scattered about, but bl*ody cold

Lovely and warm at Stoney Cove.............

yeah lovely place.

I've only ever witnessed 2 deaths of PADI divers there in my time.

BASC advanced diver/instructor, due to cancer retired

ps barbados is more fun
