Sorry for the newbie question. I just had to replace an old sump pump . I have already bought a new one and am trying to connect the outlet to the existing white flexible hose (approx 40mm outer diameter , 38mm internal diameter) which the old one was connected to. The white hose takes the pump water up to the outgoing waste water pipes in the utility room above (think there's a non return valve somewhere in the pipes)...
The outlet on the pump is now a threaded 1 1/2" BSP connector. The outside thread for this is approx 48mm , the inside diameter is about 40mm). There is also a 4 step adapter available. Ideally I'd like to connect my old pipe to the new outlet directly at the 1 1/2" connector, but having looked online I am unsure as to what adapter I need.

The attached picture shows the existing pipe + old compression joint fitting (which no longer fits on the pump side) and the new pump outlet + adapter.
Essentially, I need to get the blue circled bit into/attached to the yellow circled bit...
