I live in a bungalow and the kitchen is quite dark. I have looked at the adverts for sun tubes or sun pipes which claim to magnify sunlight from a dome on the roof. This supposed to create plenty of natural light. I cannot find anyone who has had this done. I am reluctant to install without any unbiased recommendation. Anyone had any exoerience?

They're great when its not a dark day!

Type 'sunpipe' into the search

mate has one, he was surprised i knew what it was (most thought it was a light)

seen lots in a school to light the side of internal walls where it meets the ceiling, there are ok, but not in my book, too much £ and as said only really work on bright day, and they dont magnify the light, they cant.

They are just a higly polished tube with a dome on top and a flat bit at the bottom

if a new build maybe yes, but retro, not for me.
