I have a Collins DIY book which states that any elec cooker under 3kw can go on a plug top.

We are looking to buy a dual fuel cooker.
Main elec oven 1.7kw
Top oven 1.3kw
Gas hobs.

This totals 3kw. However, the manufacturers state that a cooker connection at 30A is required.

Any ideas ?

if the total load is under 3KW it can safely go on a 13A plug or 13A FCU. i have no idea why they say 30A

thanks for the quick reply.

So to clarify, this cooker should be ok on a plug top ?

That is correct, as long as you are sure about the wattage of your cooker, but I can clarify that your DIY book advice is correct.

no 3kw grills or anything? some top ovens have a grill that can be used with the oven. oven without a grill is pretty rare.
