Seems like it's the air intake that is generating a lot of noise.Any suggestions apart from replacement?[/quote]

Air intake inside the boiler. It looks like klaxon horn and sounds not too far off it!

Thanks ChrisR and Kevplumb. Talking about a gas boiler, does not have an external air feed, but has an exhaust pipe that allowed in some gentle spring rain ,ditto summer , rectified in autumn. There might be some rust related problems!? Changed the pump 2 months ago along with the PCB. The seal joining the exhaust pipe to the boiler was perished so used gasket in a tube, this was causing blowback and trip out(sorry don't know all the tech terms). Looking at the boiler with the cover off, seems to suck in air , mix it with the gas to help combustion and the fumes are then sucked up and out. Noise happens only when the flame is active, and sound like air vibration(helicopter hovering over the house).

Thanks for all the help with my noisy suprima 100 heating system.Replaced the Pressure Vessel and peace is restored.

How on earth did you decide that was the problem??!

Hi ChrisR and Kevplumb, From knowing Zilch about boilers and central heating, rip off heating merchants and plumbers forced me to take direct action.Previously was told u need new pump, new PCB costing before labour €180 and €300. Checked prices-pump still under guarantee, free replacement, and PCB €80 delivered.Opened up the boiler -gasket perished at linkage between boiler body and exhaust flue, so used gasket in a tube. This solved the intermittent cutting out problem.Replaced the pump and the noise problem disappeared for a few days.Installer of the heating system said 'It's a plumbing problem, get your plumber to fix it'. 'If you pass the blood test and your name comes out in the raffle and Santa confirms in writing you have not been naughty and we're not too busy in 2 Months we'll try to fit u in.Your problem is pressure vessel needs replacing'.I looked at it, priced it at €18,got it ,isolated the area and replaced it in 20 minutes. It works so far.
If you want to make loadsamoney come to Dublin. It's easier to see a Surgeon than a Plumber or Fitter.
Thanks for your help and interest.
