Suprima locks out

My Potterton Suprima keeps locking out (red led flashing on panel). Resets ok by reset button but keeps happening. The book says it's probably the gas pressure or something to do with the spark. I've been told by a htg engineer it's always the electronics board, which costs an arm and two legs.
Any ideas?

the old style board are prone to going, but replacements are availible cheaper than retail.

the old style board tend to get a hot spot in the middle, (brown patch).

the thing to do is to work your way through the fault finding guide, (read it very carefuly) but you should only carryout work if qualified.

yes if it's the old board with the moulded reset button it will need replacing the newer boards have a proper black button.

Okey dokey. Now I've got the pcb we'll see what occurs when I fit it.
