Has anyone got experience of these instant water stop valves and can give me an idea of how reliable they are? I have a holiday cottage which is often empty and I'd like to be able to easily swith of the supply. Thanks in advance.
the first one cost 9 times as much as the second, and i believe relys on water pressure to work, so what if it freezes. Even if I am wrong regarding the operation, I know which one i would prefer (cost less too)
The middle one on the illustrations above is a gate valve - no good for stopping the mains. Trad thing to use would be a stop cock, which has a rubber washer which screws down onto a seat.
I appreciate your replies but I'm looking for a simple on-off valve after the existing stop cock to make it very easy for guests to turn on the water when they arrive and was hoping to hear from anyone with experience of this specific one. Often the visitors would be pensioners and stop cocks tend to be quite stiff to use. Thanks
