Suspected faulty pump

Recently my gas fired home heating boiler began to intermittently reset. Yesterday, just after starting the heating, loud hammering of the pipes rang out through the house. :!: On resetting the boiler, a hissing sound began before the hammering recommenced.

Listening closely to the wall hung pump, there was no apparent mechanical sound, possibly indicating that it is not functioning.

The heating system is is 6 1/2 years old, the same as the house.

Is the pump not working? What do I need to do to replace it. I'm not afraid of DIY or technical details.

Many thanks,
Brian

Yes the pump is dead, you have an ex pump

you need to replace it just get a like for like (its probably a grunfos 15-50) shut off the valves either side and un do the unions.

Then again, it might just be seized. Take the screw out of the end, and see if the spindle is free by using a screwdriver.
