i am going to fit underfloor (water) heating under a suspended floor.between the joists.i want the finished surface to be tiled(kitchen).what would be the best material to go on top of the joists and ufh pipes and under the tiles. is there something on the market other than wood as it's not very efficient for heat transfer?

You purchase the specific underfloor kit for the type of floor ( suspended, solid, etc) you have, then, in your case, board the floor as usual, following the instructions :)

If your tiling over then remove old floor boards, fix latts to the joists to accept 50mm kingspan insulation, then heat spreader plates fixed between joist, lay pipe run. Now board over with 18mm chipboard flooring and screw down well.
Use good quality flexi floor for tile fixing.
