hi all
i need to run power to my log cabin in my garden and wanted to make sure i am using the right size swa cable details are here

LOAD 4000 WATTS APPROX

LENGTH 70 METERS

ALL BURRIED UNDERGROUND

tlc websites suggest i use 6mm2 is that sufficent enough?

Out of interest what equipment are you using in the shed?
6.00mm SWA will be okay for 4kW of power over 70M about 39A max load.

Unless you'll be really looking forward to the chance to dig a 70m trench again you might as well put in 10mm² or 16mm² - yes it's more than you need now, but things might change, and in the context of the overall cost of the job the extra for bigger cable is pretty small.
