Hello.
I have this ( attached) in my garage )
The day and night is a bit confusing. The back garden lights do work and only turn on at night. ( it is off at that moment) via a sensor ( attached). My question is why do the back garden ones come on at night and the others ( front of garage ) do not.
The front of the garage ones are on permanently if I put it on day and night but don’t work on night only mode.
Any advice please.
Thanks in advance
Attached are the front of garage lights as well.

So many variables.

You have three different lights or groups of lights.

It looks as if they were originally wired with a dawn to dusk sensor that can be switched in and out of circuit.

In other words, in one position, the switch will connect the light(s) to the output of the D2D sensor, so that it is only on after nightfall. In the other position, the light(s) will be illuminated 24/7 until the switch is returned to the night position.

Do the back garden lights come on 24/7 in the day/night position?

It looks as if maybe the connections have been altered since the original installation so that some lights are not operated by the D2D sensor.

You'd have to do some checks and testing.

There may be more than one D2D sensor too.

Make sure all the lamps in the fittings are working. Use a table light to do this.
Then switch all day/night switches to the night position.

Then put a dark coloured towel over the D2D sensor.

Which lights come on?

Thanks for your swift and helpful response.
Yes lots of variables.
I have put both all switches on to day and night. The only lights that come on are the garden lights. Once they came on for 5 secs then turned off. Other times they stayed on.
Front of garage lights only on when on day and night mode.
Put a dark towel on the sensor today. Nothing worked. !! It did yesterday.
Last night the lights came on when it was dark in night mode.
Could sensor be damaged or erratic.
Thanks.

Then I deduce either there is another D2D sensor that isn't working, or there have been some changes to how the circuit was originally configured.

I can’t find another sensor.
I think the configuration has been changed.
I appreciate your help.
Thanks

Or a faulty switch.

Would you be comfortable turning the power off and unscrewing the panel to take several photos of the wiring from different angles?

Here we go
Any help appreciated. Thanks
By the way the 2 wires to the right go to the DnD sensor if that helps.
