COM = L1.

The other wire in L2 or L3 depending which way the switch works (up or down for on/off).

A quicker method would be to temporarily connect all 3 wires together in a connector block.

Have you been working on any other light fittings / switches or wiring prior to the cellar problem ? Have you got a multimeter ?

The onky thing i did was install a face plate on the right of switch and pulled the light switch out a bit but no cabkes are loose.

Unfortunately i dont have a multimeter

Wiring in both light fittings looks okay - no loose connections

Have you re checked those connectors to ensure copper conductors are fully engaged.
They may have nothing to do with your problem ,but as you have only worked on their faceplate it's a bit of a coincidence.
Without testing with a meter ,fault finding is limited and often a waste of time.

Ive just checked and they all seem conected properly.

Very strange. Surely the live supply cant just shut off? Hmm

There is either no voltage getting to the light fittings or the neutral is not connected / loose somewhere ,or the light fittings themselves are the issue. Buy a multimeter for around ten quid and do some testing. Or engage an electrician ,which will be a lot more :unsure:

Ive actually got hmmy electrician coming tomorrow so ill just see if he cna do me a favour and have a look!
