Hi all,

I'm installing a Vaillant outside temperature sensor which will be wired back to the boiler in the loft.

The cable needs to run from the sensor which will be mounted on a NW facing wall, which is 8ft from adjacent property wall.

The cable run will be about 2metres up to the eaves. Is white PVC T&E suitable for this application considering UV degradation of sheath and clips.

The top half of my house is rendered and painted magnolia so don't really want to have a black cable although the black sheath would be more resistant to UV effects.

Black cable possibilities appear to be:
1. Tough Rubber Sheath
2. Hi Tuf PVC/PVC

It is an
outside temperature sensor

So putting it IN the loft would not provide the feature of "outside".

As the boiler is in the loft, why not just come through the gable end and direct into the back of the sensor, or through one of the soffits?

Quick note to anyone considering sitting in their loft on a cold winter's day:

exhaling will contravene Part C of the Building Regulations.

Is this for something like the ecotec 937 ?

I installed the weather sensor via a combination of 1.5mm t&e and arctic flex.

Flex from the boiler to an fcu plate, twin and earth in the wall up to a junction box in the loft, and then arctic from the junction box outside to the weather sensor.
