Hi All, I've been scouring the net and there's quite a bit of information (sometimes conflicting) on what's the best way to tackle this.
I've become fairly handy with diy over the years and I'm planning to update my small bathroom (2.6mx1.6m) to have a small low profile shower tray(700cmx700cm, instead of a bathtub.
The current bathroom is on the first floor and has a T&G wooden floorboard subfloor which feels quite solid, there doesn't seem to be movement when jumping up and down on it.
My questions/ options are:
- Do I need to rip out all of the floorboards and replace with 24mm ply?
- Can I simply lift up the floorboards where the shower tray will be installed and fit some noggins for additional support, then refit the floorboards?
- Can I remove the section of the floor where the shower will go and fit that with 24mm ply?
I'd then be looking to overboard with NoMorePly 6mm, can the shower tray go on top of the no more ply? Is there any harm to doing this?
Cheers,
Sav
