To give one of my rooms a New England feel, I plan to put up some kind of t & g cladding effect on the walls. In the past, I've used mdf sheets (preformed with the pattern). With these, you just glue them onto the wall and they look very convincing. They are expensive, though. T & g wooden boards are around half the price. But . . . you're supposed to nail them to battens. What I was wondering is, given that this is a purely decorative effect, would it be OK to glue each wooden board to the wall, in the same way as I did the mdf sheets? Forgive me if this is a ridiculous question, but if you don't ask, you don't know.
