Is it possible to take up a limestone / marble floor intact ?

I laid this patio floor 8 years ago and the patio is going to be replaced with an extension.

I wondered could these pieces be chiselled up carefully ?

If not i wonder if they could be reused at all in a sort of crazy paved style. I am not intending on reusing them in my house, but maybe in the future somewhere else.

How did you stick your tiles down, Trevor - and onto what? If they have a good hold then damage is very likely but there's nothing to stop you trying to lever them up gently with a spade and see how readily they release.....I have my doubts though!

Sacrifice one tile or two in a corner when you are ready and see if you can get a spade or even a large bolster chisel and gently lever......it all depends on the degree of adhesion but it doesn't sound like it'll give up without a fight.

Think you might have some fun and games with the removal and keeping the marble in one piece might be a long shot. Could you cut out the pointing/grout and pry each tile up that way?
