No, I don't mean having someone zap me at 30,000ft. I mean that I have some x-ray images that I need to take with me on a long-haul flight.

Should I pack them in my case or take them by hand? Is the x-ray machine for checking luggage likely to do anything bad to them? What about the metal detector you walk through or the wands that they wave over you?

I think it should be ok since the film has already been developed, but someone told me that it could potentially be a problem, particularly the hand-held wands.

Any thoughts?

If they are the processed images then it doesn't matter.

If they are the processed images, no.

If you're really worried, and there are no duplicates of any kind, then then pack them in a lead-lined envelope and notify customs about what you're doing.

Also, take high-resolution digital photos of the images, and put them on a CD.

Thanks Softus.

I'll pass on the lead-lined envelope - they're huge so I think that would take up more than my entire luggage allowance

Once processed an x-ray machine will do no more damage to them than normal light will do to normal film that has been processed.
